On the 4th attempt last week, I beat my own Bulgarian FAI triangle record by 1.6km, in challenging conditions.  First low 1600m cloud base the first 30km, then 25km/h head wind around Shipka, then very few thermals during the Sredna Gora mountain crossing, followed by blue and again anaemic conditions around turn point 2 and back towards Sopot, and finally 40km of shade.  Moral of the day – bigger distances are coming on a better day.
